My favorite fundamentals of photography are light, composition, and subject. If I can’t use those elements to capture what I am seeing, I know the image will eventually get the delete button. But sometimes, and not too often, and if it was a rare moment, I’ll often try to save it in post. It can take a bit of time but by adding layers, dodge and burn and dozens of other filters, it might just get a save. So, in my opinion, shoot when you can, what you like or what you see, because you just never know.
