"Marlborough is pleased to present Pretty Free, a solo exhibition by the American artist Ryan McGinley. The show comprises photographs from several years, but with a particular emphasis on works from 2020. Centered on an ongoing exploration of the nude as a potent genre that spans centuries of art history, McGinley situates his subjects in a dynamic variety of contexts—from the studio to the great outdoors. Printed both in black and white and color on a wide-range of supports including satin, vinyl decals and traditional C-prints, the photographs range in scale from outsized commercial banners to intimately framed works creating a holistic investigation of the human body in space."
Present until August 13: the 86th Annual Juried Art Exhibition of the Hudson Valley Art Association, Lyme Art Assoc. Gallery, 90 Lyme St, Old Lyme, Ct. Wednesday thru Sundays. Marc Josloff received the Edgar Whitney Award in Watercolor for his painting “Montmartre #1.” Congratulations Marc!
